2 Prototype  1967 289 V8 PURSUIT CARS

Two with 4sp manual & buckets.

Trialled and returned to ford who crushed them as was usual with test cars.
They were rejected for Wireless Patrol use because the drivers wanted autos.
They were also trialled for highway Patrol and a few suggestions made re power and suspension.
Ford made the GT  based on that platform. The first Police GT was
JTL 935 LD/51293C. 

The first on the FORD PRODUCTION VIN  is pictured below with the 289 BADGE and registration number listed as

JTL 935 was LD/51293C. -The first of the Victoria Police GT ERA Q CARS (unmarked)

JTL 922 was LD/51294/C

JTL 924 was LD/51295/C   

JTL 929 was LD/51296/C 

UNKNOWN  LD/51297/C 
JTL 947 was LD/51298/C
JTL 956 was LD/51299/C

There were a total of 22 XR's.

It is likely  some of these cars were built in March 1967 as with some Gold Falcon GTs. ACT received 5 that month 

All the Victoria Police XR GTs had BLUEPRINT motors source Harry Firth plus an MTS driver back in the day 
A total batch of 6 for Victoria Police other states received them as well ACT that received some in March 1967

These cars were run in and had the first 1000mile service the first total effort was a blitz  in late June 1967
