50 YEARS 1972-2022 CANDYCARS SPECIAL 'S CARS new SIGNAGE '
In 1972 Victoria Police Mobile Traffic Section ordered these S cars which patrolled the Victorian section of the HUME HIGHWAY also called Candy cars because of the colours. Four new candy cars were commissioned on the Western Highway a new patched candy striped signage was ordered on these 4 the future replacement XA candy car models in 1973 . During the Ford Falcon XA model series 1972 there were 8 candy cars patrolling the HUME HIGHWAY in 1973 there were 4 candy cars patrolling the WESTERN HIGHWAY at total of 12 candy cars which were replaced after approx 6 months or reaching the set mileage 12 plus the support of unmarked Ford Falcon XA 351 Q cars and solo police motorbikes
